**The opportunity**

**Key Responsibilities and Functions**

**Human & Material Resources Management**
- Hire, train and evaluate signal maintainers, providing them with leadership and mentoring;
- Oversee the execution of the work performed by a team of +/- 15 signal maintainers with the assistance of 3 signal coordinators;
- Validate and approve payroll information using the company's timekeeping system;
- Provide support to the signal coordinators in the resolution of technical problems that are escalated, ensuring that they are led to satisfactory resolution and that this circles back to the client;
- Ensure that employees in the field are provided with the required tools and material to perform the work and maintain equipment inventories.

**Gestion des ressources humaines et matérielles**
- Embaucher, former et évaluer les préposés à l'entretien des signaux, en leur offrant leadership et mentorat ;
- Superviser l'exécution du travail d'une équipe de +/- 15 préposés à l'entretien des signaux avec l'aide de 3 coordonnateurs de signaux ;
- Valider et approuver les informations relatives à la paie à l'aide du système de comptabilisation des heures de travail de l'entreprise ;
- Résoudre les problèmes d'escalade concernant les employés dans le respect de la convention collective en vigueur, en appliquant les mesures disciplinaires appropriées en cas de besoin ;
- Apporter un soutien aux coordinateurs de signaux dans la résolution des problèmes techniques qui sont remontés, en veillant à ce qu'ils soient résolus de manière satisfaisante et à ce que le client en soit informé ;
- Veiller à ce que les employés sur le terrain disposent des outils et du matériel nécessaires à l'exécution de leur travail et tenir à jour les stocks d'équipement.

**Safety & Compliance Management**
- Promote and reinforce quality assurance, performance, timeliness and client satisfaction on a regular basis and by various means;
- Take a leadership role in finding proactive solutions that enhance train operations or operations performance and reliability;
- Ensure that safety efficiency testing (audits) are being completed to ensure steady compliance of employees to standards and work rules;
- Ensure that employees' records of qualifications are up-to-date and in their possession at all times; otherwise take appropriate actions to regularize their file;
- Ensure that all operations are executed in compliance to Federal, Provincial and Corporate safety policies, along with Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) and Transport Canada regulations;
- Investigate thoroughly all incidents, accidents, rules or work procedure violations and take appropriate measures in conjunction with Management and/or Human Resources;
- Act as an employer representative on the Health & Safety committee.

- S'assurer que les dossiers de qualification des employés sont à jour et en leur possession à tout moment ; sinon, prendre les mesures appropriées pour régulariser leur dossier ;
- S'assurer que toutes les opérations sont exécutées conformément aux politiques de sécurité fédérales, provinciales et de l'entreprise, ainsi qu'au Règlement d'exploitation ferroviaire du Canada (REF) et aux règlements de Transports Canada ;
- Enquêter de manière approfondie sur tous les incidents, accidents, violations des règles ou des procédures de travail et prendre les mesures appropriées en collaboration avec la direction et/ou les ressources humaines ;
- Agir en tant que représentant de l'employeur au sein du comité de santé et de sécurité.

**Client Relationship Management**
- Interface with the clients in regards to any issue or concern that may arise;
- Gather, organize and provide the client with the information required as per our contracts or upon need (audit reports, etc.);
