The role of the Trust Associate is to provide administrative support to the Trust Officer to ensure quality and timeliness of completion of Estate, Trust & POA Administration.

This position contributes to maintaining high standards of client service, quality control and operational excellence.

As educational and experience requirements are met the incumbent will take on additional Trust Officer responsibilities, with progressively more complex account responsibilities.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Perform Executor and Trustee functions relative to the set-up, settlement, administration and eventual distribution of Estates and Trusts under the terms of applicable governing documents for an assigned book of accounts ensuring seamless delivery of quality client service
  • Act as Estate and Trust Administrator on an additional assigned book of accounts
  • Share accountability with other team members to retain and grow the business by creating efficiencies and minimizing risk
  • Prepare account opening, initial set up of document files and ongoing maintenance activities for estate and trust accounts, including closing of accounts
  • Proactively administer an assigned book of accounts in an accurate, efficient, and timely fashion to facilitate the delivery of seamless quality service in the eyes of the client
  • Prepare Plan of Partitions for Estates / Trusts in distribution
  • Ensure all account administration is in accordance with the terms of governing documents, relevant legislation, and company policy

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Community College Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in estate, trust & POA administration (Quebec/Common Law)
  • Working knowledge of estate and Trust Administration, including legislation, tax and filing requirements affecting estates and trusts
  • Knowledge of the preparation of financial statements, financial position forecasts, personal, trust and corporate tax returns
  • Certificate in Estate and Trust Administration is strongly considered as an asset. With a willingness to complete the courses within first 18 months of start date
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course is considered an asset
