About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Trust Officer to join our Scotia Wealth Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client service and administration of estate and trust accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized service to clients and beneficiaries, ensuring timely and accurate account administration and effective interaction with them, their advisors, and Co-Trustees.
  • Ensure compliance with defined policies and procedures, audit standards, and risk management principles to limit corporate risk exposure.
  • Create and authorize accurate and timely accounting entries for payments, fee collection, and distributions to clients and beneficiaries.
  • Prepare and approve detailed fee calculations in estate and trust accounts, obtaining approvals from beneficiaries and/or courts as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities and referring clients to other Scotiabank teams as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Canadian Securities Course.
  • University degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Successful completion of three courses towards Member, Trust Institute or Specialist, Trust Institute designation/diploma.
  • Thorough knowledge of trust accounting principles, systems, and policies.
  • Working knowledge of personal trust policies, Scotia Wealth Management business lines, and product offerings.
