We are looking for Hosts to join our enthusiastic and energetic Grazers restaurant team.
As a Host, you will be responsible for warmly welcoming customers as well as manage the efficient and timely seating at a table in the dining establishment including the patio.

September 22, 2024 Shifts can vary and include weekdays and weekends as well as day and night shifts.
What you will do:
Welcome customers to the establishment
Track table availability and maintain waitlist when seating is not immediately available
Accommodate special seating requests for customers whenever possible
Relay messages to servers and bus-persons as needed
Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
Maintain the cleanliness and supplies at the host stand
Clean menus, high chairs and boosters after use
Perform other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Team Leader/ Restaurant coordinator
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Relay customer comments or suggestions to the Restaurant Team Leader
What you will bring:
~1 to 2 years' experience in a Serving role
~ ProServe Certification is required
~ Must be 18 year of age or older
~ Experience in a serving role or similar is preferred
~ Friendly, outgoing personality
~ Independent worker
~ Service all customer promptly and courteously
Working Conditions:
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Labour intensive work
Heavy lifting up to 50lbs.
Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time required
May be exposed to hazardous cleaning chemicals and supplies, hot food preparation equipment, smoke, and other hazardous conditions common to commercial food preparation areas
Shift work required
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions.
The organization follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues.The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is a no smoking environment including vaping.
