ABOUT THE JOB:

The goal of the Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) Canada is to provide day-to-day services to Societe Generale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to speed up their transformation process. GBSU stands out from competitors due to the fast agile transformation delivered, promoting a technology and data culture, streamlining decision-making processes, and adopting a true industrial approach with various teams either transversal or aligned to different sub-business units.

Within GBSU, the Equity and Derivatives (EQD) Execution Services (EXS) department manages, implements, and maintains all Agency trading platforms. The North America team is part of a global organization that supports electronic connectivity and trading activities in America, Europe, and Asia, catering to institutional, retail, and Prime Brokerage clients across multiple asset classes.

With offices in New York, Chicago, and Montreal, GBSU/EQD/EXS comprises a diverse group of individuals passionate about innovation and collaboration.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

  • Assist with client onboarding and coordination across departments.
  • Provide clients with electronic trading system information.
  • Analyze client order execution needs.
  • Collaborate on client-specific requirements.
  • Propose solutions to the Sales & Product team.
  • Implement risk limits and project plans.
  • Manage user/client authorization and reporting.
  • Document progress and changes.
  • Confirm exchange membership and pricing.
  • Validate workflows with clients.
  • Train support desk for Tier 1 assistance.
  • Provide second-line support.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Partner with global teams.
  • Ensure coverage six days a week.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge & practical experience of using the FIX protocol and trading platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of algorithmic trading.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP & multicast.
  • Familiarity with Linux platform and scripting such as bash.
  • Capable of working autonomously and as part of a larger project team.
  • Strong communication and prioritization skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to Agile methodologies.
  • Basic Project Management skills.
  • Experience in the creation and maintenance of ATDL XML files.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • Knowledge of Python scripting.
  • Financial markets knowledge.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information System or sufficient Professional work experience in a similar position.

Languages: English, French.

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.

Due to US Federal Securities law applying to this position, candidates who will apply for this position will be required to submit to an enhanced background screening, including the collection of their fingerprints by a third-party vendor selected by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
