MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

  • This role is a position within the Electronic Markets Application Production team in Montreal which is part of the APS group (Application Production & Support). This is a global team providing services to the Forex, Rates, Credit, eCommerce and Commodities businesses within BNP Paribas CIB Global Markets.
  • The team also manages connectivity to more than 20 electronic trading venues (ICAP/EBS, Reuters AutoQuote/FIX/RFA, Currenex, HotSpot, Eurex, NYSE Euronext Liffe, CME, Brokertec, EurexRepo, eSpeed,, EuroMTS, MarketAxess)
  • Supported systems are mainly installed in London, New York, Tokyo and Singapore and most of them are running 24/5.

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • Daytoday management of production: monitoring, capacity management, problem resolution activities and change management
  • Shift pattern is usually 10:00 19:00
  • Responsible for efficient resolution of issues to minimize impact to clients and internal users including liaising with end users, team members, management, vendors and other internal IT teams
  • Assist in the development, design and implementation of technical support systems
  • Perform activities related to implementation and rollout for upgrades of existing services
  • Work closely with development teams, business analysts, architects, all infrastructure teams to design and setup new systems, improve existing platforms (Resilient, high availability, performant and lowlatency)
  • Coordinate and organize changes with external vendors, markets and exchanges
  • Plan, schedule, implement and document the change activities.

TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong allaround IT background, experience in electronic trading markets on similar environments
  • Ability to work and deliver in stressful environment.

ESSENTIAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to follow and adapt complex processes to resolve issues quickly and accurately
  • Good understanding of network and firewall concepts
  • Good understanding of web technologies
  • Proven project management skills to deliver small & medium scale projects
  • Ability to analyses network captures
  • Scripting (Python, PERL, Shell, SQL) and development skills for administration, monitoring and support tools would be useful.
