ABOUT THE JOB:

The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.

The position of Support Analyst requires a strong understanding of the Fixed Income and currency business. The GBTO FIC (Fixed Income, Forex, and Credit) department manages various technologies related to electronic trading, trade capture, pricing, risk management, and market access. This role involves working closely with traders, sales teams, and e-business partners, primarily focusing on supporting Front Office trading applications.

Our team operates in an AGILE environment, developing and maintaining software for price and inventory publication, inquiry management, and the seamless processing of electronic trades. This software interfaces with multiple external electronic trading systems and exchanges, including Bloomberg, Tradeweb, BrokerTec Trad-X, MarketAxess, and direct client connections. The position requires a collaborative approach with traders, business analysts, and developers to deliver and support solutions for the trading and sales desks within a DevOps model environment. Excellent communication skills are essential for effective daily interactions with traders, sales, and operations staff. Candidates will gain exposure to various electronic trading functions such as streaming prices, trade straight-through processing (STP), electronic trade execution, order management, and market depth aggregation, along with Regulatory Reporting. They may also work with advanced trading techniques like intelligent auto-quoting, order routing, automatic hedging, and automated trading strategies. The team operates globally, supporting FIC activities with applications deployed across major financial hubs including Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, and is based in the dealing room for a hands-on experience.

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

Primary tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Provide timely resolution of functional and technical issues and report incidents to the appropriate chain of command. End users are Sales, Traders, Front and Middle Office in the FIC department
  • Troubleshoot functional issues in a complex financial environment, with various applications and architecture regionally and/or globally. Multi-tasking environment
  • Crisis Management with communication to end-user and senior management
  • Provide functional and technical expertise to produce and promote maintainable and quality solutions, which includes documenting system requirements and documentation of support run book
  • Communicate with users regarding application outages and upcoming events like release, project
  • Liaise with development/support teams in Bangalore, New York, Montreal, Paris and London
  • Respond to end users within timeframe dictated by the severity of the problem, document and track case histories, issues, and action steps
  • Respect internal IT norms, standards and processes
  • Timely reporting of production and project status to client and IT management
  • Effective and efficient oral and written communication with various audiences at appropriate levels
  • Partner with development teams (NY/Paris) on analysis and development as a part of the DevOps model
  • Partner with development teams (NY/Paris) on release management
  • Partner with the Global support teams (Paris/Asia) to ensure quality support to our end users
  • Effectively manage the Client Relationship with the end user community
Profile required

Skills and Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Strong analytical skills, follow-up capability and problem-solving ability
  • Can communicate clearly and excellently with a wide variety of people/functions (verbal/written)
  • Flexible and adaptable to new environments. Quickly learns new systems/products
  • Proactive and results-oriented: sets goals and priorities that maximize the use of resources to deliver optimal results
  • Experience in financial products (Fixed Income) / financial industry business processes / trading system
  • Team-oriented, client-focused, and open to different ideas/viewpoints
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking projects
  • Thrives in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment
  • Competency in SQL
  • Knowledge on Client/Server application
  • Comfortable working on Windows/Unix environments
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel)

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of derivative product lifecycle workflow
  • Middleware experience (Tibco, RMDS, Ultra Messaging)
  • Network experience
  • FI/FX functional knowledge
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Previous experience in a support team facing trader and sales (3 years +)
  • Previous experience working with developer or Business Analyst
  • Previous experience in financial industry

Languages: French and English

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States .
