Job Responsibilities

(Internal Title : Scheduling III)

  • Applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to meet project requirements
  • Schedule planning, developing and maintaining the project Master schedule to meet the project objectives, schedule basis, managing the progress measurement and earned value, schedule reporting, schedule change implementation and developing and maintain the schedule management plan 
  • Responsible for the delivery of project planning and progress measurement, ensuring that project procedures and best practices are applied
  • Develop the Schedule Management Plan; develop the schedule structure, coding and hierarchy. Develop and maintain the Basis of Schedule for each baseline schedule 
  • Develop the baseline curves including progress and manpower; generate all progress curves including planned, actual and forecast 
  • Participate in project schedule risk analysis and include subsequent contingencies in the baseline 
  • Analyze consultants, suppliers, contractor schedules and provide analysis/recommendations
  • Generate and verify monthly updates and issue progress reports. Monitor slippages and critical and near critical activities
  • Performs and/or coordinates, collects, verifies, and integrates the work scope for all entities into the total project plan. Reviews the representation of project scope in schedules
  • Provide schedule input to the procurement bid process including reporting requirements and milestone dates. Assist with bid evaluation and ongoing management of consultants, vendors and contractors
  • Maintain and optimize the schedule through change management procedures; monitor progress and resolve areas of potential concern. Review and assess schedule impacts due to changes/claims
  • Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates
  • Analyze schedule variance, float and trending and monitor schedule KPI’s
  • Manage schedule changes and forecast project impact. Implement corrective action when performance trends deviate from the baseline
  • Perform audits on various schedules including those produced by contractors, prepare all required output documents
  • Assist in Developing and maintaining all the required project schedules and ensure data integrity across the entire project life cycle
  • Reviews scope changes and claims for schedule and cost impact and provide feedback to financial and contract management staff
  • Creation and implementation of key scheduling requirements such as activity coding, naming conventions, client requirements management protocol, project calendars, and resource and plant data libraries
  • Interacts with the Contractors’ personnel to review and analyze contract schedules
  • Analyze schedule variance, float, and trending and monitor schedule KPI’s. Support progress measurement process and analyze progress and performance data
  • Prepares schedule reports, graphs and cost/schedule performance reports for project review meetings
  • Performs and/or coordinates, collects, verifies, and integrates the work scope for all entities into the total project plan. Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to all internal and external clients
  • Working experience in claims management or forensic delay analysis
  • Provides guidance to junior schedulers
  • Point of communication with clients
  • Has to make decisions such as accepting contractor schedules, commenting and rejecting
  • Performing all other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications Required

Education: 

Licenses or Certifications: 

  • PMP, PMI-SP or PSP is required

Experience:

  • 9+ years of planning and scheduling experience in medium-sized projects or programs 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Advanced skills in Excel
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks, Synchro, Power BI and TILOS is an asset 
  • Must have a good understanding of multi-discipline engineering and construction projects 
  • Continuing professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • In-depth understanding of prevailing project management and scheduling methods
