Our headquarters is located in Vancouver, BC.Hotel DescriptionThe Arts & Crafts Hotel is a boutique hotel built inside of the historic Arts & Crafts heritage building in the Downtown Vancouver Business District. The brand-new hotel will be a revamped space of the Arts & Crafts heritage building that was built in 1911. While the building has been rebranded multiple times since, the hotel now has 73 rooms across 7 levels as well as a rooftop patio and a ground floor restaurant. The Hotel offers guests a unique opportunity to stay in the heart of Downtown Vancouver in a heritage building with a modern design. Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a General Manager (Pre-Opening) at the Arts & Crafts Hotel. The General Manager (Pre-Opening) will play a key role in the successful launch and ongoing operation of our new hotel. This individual will be involved in all aspects of the pre-opening phase, including construction planning, design development, and staffing. Once the hotel is open, the General Manager will assume full responsibility for its day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, profitability, and guest satisfaction. This is an on-site role based in Vancouver, BC.As a General Manager (Pre-Opening), your role will include, but not be limited to:Working closely with the executive team and project managers to ensure the successful completion of the hotel construction and design phaseRecruiting, hiring, and training key staff members, including department heads and front-line employeesDeveloping and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the hotelQualifications and Job SummaryStrong leadership and management skillsExperience in the hospitality industryExcellent financial acumen and ability to analyze financial dataProven track record of achieving business growth and profitabilityAbility to develop and execute strategic plansEffective communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesBachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably within a boutique hotel or downtown hotelStrong financial acumen and proven experience in managing budgets, financial planning, and cost control measuresComprehensive knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices within the hospitality industryProficiency in hotel management software and systemsPre-opening experience of a hotel Project management experience
