We are currently searching for a Hotel Maintenance Manager to join our salary team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Resident Manager and the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager will oversee the maintenance, repair and upkeep of guestrooms, equipment, public and heart of house areas and through personal presence and lead a small team of shift engineers.

Salary Range: 80K - 90K

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages all hotel preventive maintenance activity in guest rooms, public spaces, spa etc.
  • Provides technical expertise and competence in areas of hotel engineering/facility/building maintenance.
  • This is a hands-on role, that will allow the Engineering Manager to actively participate in work being done
  • Supervises a small team of Shift Engineers and effectively coach, train, motivate, recognize, schedule, provide performance feedback and correction if required
  • Manages outside contracts and ensures proper implementation; Inspects quality of work done by outside trades
  • Tracks property-wide maintenance, liaising with contractors and vendors as required
  • Manages the hotel energy conservation, sustainability and preventative maintenance programs
  • Monitors and maintains a full inventory of departmental supplies, parts, tools and equipment
  • Prioritizes and responds to all guest and internal maintenance requests in timely and efficient manner
  • At regular intervals, inspects the working condition of equipment and engineering systems and ensure that all standards are consistently maintained.
  • Ensures compliance to all hotel policies, standards and core practices, diligently manages inventory controls, departmental budgets (operating and Capex) and safety programs
  • Orders and maintains tracking system of parts, tools and equipment used in hotel
  • Respects and spearheads environmental, maintenance and safety guidelines and initiatives, as required.
  • Responsible for Energy & Utilities Management and the monthly submission of reports to Corporate office
  • Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years previous work experience in a similar capacity is required
  • Previous background or experience in hotel maintenance/engineering is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail are mandatory for this role.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing practices and pool maintenance
  • Demonstrated understanding for luxury hotel standards of service
  • Minimum education requirements (if required)
  • Motivational management style with a genuine interest in service excellence
