Job Description

  • Participate in all calls and investigations for workplace incidents.
  • Provide accurate interpretations of applicable Provincial and Federal OHS legislation.
  • Identify deficiencies at branch level to assist in the development of H&S initiatives.
  • Actively engage and support in activities such as safety program implementation, internal and external H&S audits, safety performance management and proactive initiatives geared towards injury reduction.
  • Assess risk management and implement solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Liaise with contractors and regulators to facilitate and initiate H&S activities.
  • Develop effective and interactive H&S presentations, workshops and training programs that will increase knowledge and participation of employees.
  • Train employees on Forklift and Power Equipment.


Degree Requirements

Certification of all or a combination of OH&S System Building, OHS Roles & Responsibilities for Managers & Supervisors, Hazard Assessment & Control and Joint H&S Committees/Representatives

- Minimum of two (2) years of OHS experience

- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation

- Knowledge in hazard identification, risk assessment and needed corrective actions

- Ability to train, supervise and coach

- Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

- Experience within the produce industry would be an asset
