About the Role

Cascades is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our Recovery + division, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of safety and sustainability across our multi-plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular plant walks, engage with drivers and operators, and participate in ride-alongs to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with control systems, provide coaching and educational opportunities, and liaise with local and senior leadership on systemic issues.
  • Communicate with local leadership on activities and advice related to inspections from authorities and respond to events as needed.
  • Promote health and safety initiatives, ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and serve as a subject matter expert on health, safety, and wellness.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of OHS laws and standards.
  • Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions.
  • Ability to translate challenges into concrete solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to support and advise business partners in analyzing their needs and finding solutions.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, agility to work with various technological tools, and knowledge of SAP software or other ERP.
