About the Role
The Strategic Account Executive will manage and expand relationships with our most important clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. The SAE will also help shape the future of our business by identifying growth opportunities, developing comprehensive account strategies, and executing plans that align with our long-term objectives and revenue growth targets. This role requires the ability to travel internationally.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients in the cell and gene therapy sector, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential strategic clients, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement growth strategies.
- Account Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives, forecasting and tracking key account metrics to measure success.
- Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share for Virica’s VSEs products and services.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including R&D, product development, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of products and services, acting as a liaison to communicate client feedback.
- Market Analysis: Research the market to identify new business opportunities, stay updated on industry trends, and monitor competitor activities.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of Virica’s products and services as well as their applications in cell and gene therapy, effectively communicating their value proposition to clients.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on account performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives to senior management, analysing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- CRM Management: Utilize CRM systems to track sales activities, manage customer relationships, and generate insightful reports. Ensure data integrity and leverage CRM analytics to drive sales strategies.
- Travel: Represent Virica Biotech at industry conferences, trade shows, and client meetings globally, requiring frequent international travel.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or PhD) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience or industry experience, specifically in cell and gene therapy.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets in a matrix organization.
- Strong understanding of cell and gene therapy processes and applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM and demonstrated ability to manage CRM systems with rigor.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time including international.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work remotely from Canada, or in addition to available office space, or at such other locations as may be mutually agreeable. The Employee shall supply their own mobile phone. Virica will provide a laptop and required computer software for the duration of the employment term.
Travel
This position will require frequent international travel.
