Our established client is adding a stand alone Senior Human Resources to their Kitchener Location. On site position, Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.

This role will focus on employee relations HR process execution and staffing.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Highly visible, approachable, and trusted resource for employees and managers. Frequent employee interaction within the manufacturing plant.
  • Develop employee relations strategy and plans for both manufacturing and office teams.
  • Advise and coach supervisors on resolution of employee concerns.
  • Develop and execute communication plans that build motivated, engaged results and orientated team culture.
  • Partner with facility leadership team to develop metrics and other communication tools that drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with leadership team to define values, culture development goals, and action plans.
  • Full-cycle recruitment for hourly positions; developing sources of qualified potential candidates, preparing job postings, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, preparing employment contracts, and on-boarding of new hires.
  • Continuously improve employee retention. Measure and communicate results to leaders and develop action plans. Conduct exit interviews.
  • Maintain compliance with Canadian laws and employee legislation requirements to ensure compliance and best practices are being maintained.
  • Actively lead and manage various health and safety programs, coordinate, and facilitate meetings. Participate in incident investigation and action planning.
  • Effectively investigate complaints and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Implement and administer performance management & objective setting process.
  • Coach managers/supervisors on writing performance reviews, corrective action, development planning or verbal coaching.
  • Monitor, support, and administer progressive discipline program as required.
  • Partner with department leaders to support organizational design, job design, and write job descriptions.
  • Coach managers on team leadership and team development topics.
  • Partner with manufacturing leaders to build effective on-the-job training and skill level evaluation process.
  • Implement and facilitate basic skills and supervisory training.
  • Ensure effective administration of new hire and termination process and paperwork.
  • Support time and attendance tracking, HRIS / payroll input and benefits administration, and data accuracy.



Education & Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field and 3 years of progressive experience in HR, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • CHRP or working towards CHRP designation is an asset
  • Working understanding of WSIB standards and how to administer the relevant forms.
  • Full cycle recruiting experience.
  • Highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Positive communication skills.
  • An ability to collaborate.
  • Proficient with MS office.
  • Interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong ethics and cultural awareness.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
