Port Hope, Canada Renewable Power Partners Full time

About Us:

Founded in 2012, our company has successfully completed more than 70 renewable energy developments and is now entering an exciting new phase of growth. After a brief hiatus, we’ve rebooted operations with a talented sales team and an ambitious, scalable model for new solar and battery facilities. While rooted in Ontario with both commercial and utility portfolios under development, we are busily developing a portfolio of battery sites in New York City.

We have the experience of many completed projects, and a record of innovation in efficient bulk development of renewable energy sites. This position is pivotal to shaping the Ontario office, which will facilitate local site leasing, manage relationships with site hosts, and coordinate construction for future project portfolios. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate on both local and international initiatives.

Position Overview

As the Executive Assistant and Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the business processes, project documentation, and logistical needs that drive our operations. This position requires a fast learner with exceptional organizational skills and technical proficiency, capable of contributing positively to a team while handling challenges independently. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to renewable energy development and land portfolio management in a results-oriented and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor and Development Support

  • Research and evaluate vendors, such as soil scientists and permitting specialists, during the project development phase.
  • Make initial contact, screen vendors, collect quotes, and support decision-making.
  • Maintain communication with vendors to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.

Process and Documentation Management

  • Support business processes by completing documentation, requesting information, and following up to ensure key timelines are met.
  • Maintain organized project records and regulatory filings to facilitate project execution.
  • Assist in creating and documenting workflows to improve team efficiency.

Property Management

  • Act as a point of contact for four rental properties managed by property management firms, addressing occasional tenant or contractor requests (e.g., scheduling a plumber).
  • Coordinate quotes and oversee contractor visits for property-related projects.
  • Provide light assistance with maintaining two personal properties when the CEO is out of town.

Administrative and General Support

  • Manage scheduling, communications, and relationship maintenance for the CEO.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the CEO, local teams, and stakeholders.
  • Handle occasional driving tasks to support errands, property visits, or vendor meetings.

Qualifications

Skills and Attributes

  • Exceptional computer/technical proficiency, including familiarity with office software and organizational tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle a variety of challenges with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Self-starter who contributes positively to a team while also thriving with minimal supervision.
  • Fast learner who can grasp new concepts quickly and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Ability to act both individually and collaboratively to ensure tasks and projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in renewables, engineering, architecture, or real estate development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with vendor sourcing, regulatory processes, or administrative support is an asset.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a company driving the renewable energy transition with a record of innovative solar and battery energy projects.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of responsibilities, from administrative tasks to project coordination.
  • Work in a supportive, merit-based environment where initiative and results are rewarded.
  • Benefit from clear opportunities for professional growth and expanded responsibilities.
