Development Planner


Our client provides housing for Senior's in the form of Long Term Care. They are looking to add a Land Use Planner to the team. This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

Support various development approvals of primarily Long-Term Care developments, including Official Plan Amendments, Draft Plan approval, Zoning Bylaw Amendments, Subdivision registration, Site Plan Agreements, by working with multi-disciplined consultant teams and various municipalities and government authorities.

Maintain appropriate records of architectural, landscape, and engineering plans, as well as approvals, permits and agreements for each project.

Assist with preparation and maintenance of project schedules, meeting minutes, proforma and budgets, cost tracking, and other financial reporting.

Review and consolidate comments on technical reports, drawings, and other consultant products and coordinate submissions for applications.

Stay current on new industry technologies and trends and municipal standards.

Help build industry and market presence and awareness.

To provide assistance with construction monitoring progress on site, attending Site Meetings and monitoring the construction schedule

You will be analyzing interpreting, and reporting on project data as well as working with internal departments and external stakeholders (construction manager, lenders etc.) to ensure that all projects undertaken are scoped appropriately and managed in accordance with an established budget and schedule

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative Development professional who enjoys overseeing and monitoring multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


What You Bring

Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation preferred, or Candidate membership in OPPI/CIP

LTC/Retirement experience in senior’s sector.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the real estate development industry and/or relevant related practical experience is desirable
  • An understanding of planning policies, regulations, and approvals processes in GTHA and neighboring municipalities
  • Strong communication skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Working proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented, and analytical with a strong desire to learn
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Urban Planning, Business, Civil Engineering, Architectural Sciences or Project/Construction Management
  • Ability to learn new Project Management software may be required
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
