Land Use Development Specialist

At B.E.S.T. Recruiting Consultants Ltd., we are seeking an experienced Land Use Planner to join our team. This is a full-time remote opportunity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various development approvals, including Official Plan Amendments, Draft Plan approval, Zoning Bylaw Amendments, Subdivision registration, Site Plan Agreements, and other related projects. They will work closely with multi-disciplined consultant teams and various municipalities and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate records of architectural, landscape, and engineering plans, as well as approvals, permits, and agreements for each project.
- Assisting with preparation and maintenance of project schedules, meeting minutes, proforma, and budgets, cost tracking, and other financial reporting.
- Reviewing and consolidating comments on technical reports, drawings, and other consultant products, and coordinating submissions for applications.
- Staying current on new industry technologies and trends and municipal standards.
- Helping build industry and market presence and awareness.
- Monitoring construction progress on site, attending site meetings, and monitoring the construction schedule.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on project data, and working with internal departments and external stakeholders (construction manager, lenders, etc.) to ensure that all projects undertaken are scoped appropriately and managed in accordance with an established budget and schedule.
About You:
- You hold a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation or are a Candidate member of OPPI/CIP.
- You have 5+ years of relevant experience in the real estate development industry and/or related practical experience.
- You have an understanding of planning policies, regulations, and approvals processes in GTHA and neighboring municipalities.
- You possess strong communication skills with an analytical mindset.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- You are self-motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented, and analytical with a strong desire to learn.
- You hold a post-secondary degree/diploma in Urban Planning, Business, Civil Engineering, Architectural Sciences, or Project/Construction Management.
- You are able to learn new Project Management software.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year.
