About the Role:

At Phelps, we are seeking a skilled Urban Land Use Planner to join our team. As a key member of our municipal development team, you will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data on factors affecting land use, recommending plans for zoning, subdivisions, transportation, public utilities, community facilities, parks, agricultural and other land uses, and presenting plans to civic, rural and regional authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze data on factors affecting land use
  • Recommend plans for zoning, subdivisions, transportation, public utilities, community facilities, parks, agricultural and other land uses
  • Confer with appropriate authorities and interest groups to formulate and develop land use or community plans
  • Presentation of plans to civic, rural and regional authorities and holding public meetings
  • Formulate long-range objectives and policies relative to future land use and the protection of the environment
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience an asset
  • On-site work required
