Purpose:

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join our Legal & Compliance Team in the Toronto Office, reporting to the General Counsel and CFO.


You will be responsible for all compliance aspects of the company in Ontario and the global markets. As the GGPoker brand operates in a number of different jurisdictions, responsibilities include maintaining awareness of the regulatory requirements in different countries and liaising with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helping define the strategy for markets that need licensing, certification and/or product compliance;
  • Monitoring the iGaming landscape to be able to adapt quickly to regulatory changes;
  • Support reviewing of commercial and software license agreements;
  • Maintaining, optimizing, and staying abreast of all iGaming compliance regulations, as well as accepted business practices/standards, and internal business decisions, for the Company’s operations;
  • Being in direct contact and maintaining strong ties and communication with all regulatory bodies and legislative external stakeholders in order to ensure that the business is operating in a fully compliant manner;
  • Working with various authorities to submit regulatory returns and conduct ongoing internal reviews and audits of the B2C and B2B operations of the Company, identifying regulatory vulnerabilities across all policies, procedures, and systems in place;
  • Implementing appropriate developments and amendments to existing policies, procedures, and systems as well as regularly reporting to senior management;
  • Working closely alongside all internal departments such as Customer Support, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Payments in order to ensure the product offering complies with legislation set out by the regulatory bodies. These teams are likely to have daily ad-hoc questions so the candidate should feel confident to assist the teams to reach compliant conclusions together;
  • Maintaining the Company’s business risk assessments;
  • Providing support, training, and guidance to other members of the team;
  • Dealing with ad-hoc matters of compliance as required.


Requirements:

  • At least 3 years proven experience within a Gaming compliance role
  • Deep knowledge of the Gaming industry, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Poker experience a plus
  • Strong logical and analytical skills as well as the ability to multitask and balance multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate issues and results in a clear, concise, and precise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • You must be a dedicated and supportive teammate and be willing to help out when needed.
  • Ability to work on projects independently or collaboratively with the team.
  • Proactive about new projects that will help the team.
  • Curious by nature, passionate about poker and improving the ecology of the poker industry.
  • Being Bilingual (in any secondary language) is a plus.
