Project Description and Background

The CMBC EAM project aims to re-implement EAM in the cloud, utilize mobile technologies, and align business processes with industry best practices. The Key Improvements workstream focuses on introducing key business processes identified by CMBC in EAM in the cloud.

Services

The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Software QA, and provide comprehensive QA and testing services including:

  1. Reviewing background materials to understand project objectives and requirements.
  2. Collaborating with project teams, product owners, and stakeholders to develop QA/Test Strategy and Product Test Plan.
  3. Maintaining Test Plans; designing, developing, and updating Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and automated Test Scripts for various testing types.
  4. Communicating with stakeholders to ensure efficient project progress.
  5. Identifying and mitigating project risks.
  6. Preparing test data and setting up test environments.
  7. Managing and monitoring tests and test results.
  8. Developing and maintaining Defect Logs.
  9. Tracking and resolving defects and deficiencies.
  10. Providing regular status reports on QA work and progress.
  11. Participating in user feedback and training sessions.
  12. Following Agile methodology and contributing to continuous QA process improvement.
  13. Performing other related project work as assigned by the Team Lead or manager.

Deliverables

The QA Analyst will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  1. QA and testing strategy document.
  2. Test Plans, Roadmap, Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and Test Scripts.
  3. Defect and Issue logs/records.
  4. QA status reports, test results, graphs, and metrics.
  5. Training materials including video/audio records and Wiki pages.
  6. All work products stemming from the services performed.

Knowledge & Experience

The preferred candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of recent hands-on experience in application testing.
  • Strong skills in identifying issues and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in developing test cases/scripts.
  • In-depth understanding of QA processes and testing using Agile/DevOps methodology.
  • Experience with large enterprise applications such as ERP, Finance, HR, CSM, Asset Management systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, C#, F#, or Java is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a Unionized environment and exposure to Union organizations such as CUPE, COPE, and CAW/Unifor is considered an asset.
