Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Franchise Accounting to join their established and growing Finance teams. This role will report into the Manager and will require roughly 1 day per week in office.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate franchisee invoices for takeovers, resales, and store renovations
  • Ensure accuracy of initial and final billings through thorough review
  • Prepare financial analyses and provide historical sales data to the Franchising Department
  • Handle journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals for monthly and quarterly financial closes
  • Collaborate with the Construction team to review construction accruals, compare them to budgets, and ensure accuracy
  • Support franchise billing processes, monitoring and tracking billing activities
  • Assist in quarterly and annual external audits, providing necessary information promptly
  • Engage with cross-functional departments such as Lease Admin, Real Estate & Construction, Franchise Store Operations, and Accounting
  • Address franchisee inquiries and provide necessary support
  • Support the Manager, Operational Accounting in franchise billing process, financial close activities, ad hoc reporting, and analysis
  • Assist in producing various reports and analyses related to retail activities for franchisees
  • Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for system, process, or reporting changes when needed


Qualifications:

  • CPA designation completion or in final stages
  • Full-cycle accounting experience under IFRS
  • Franchise accounting experience preferred
  • Large company experience, preferably in the retail industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work well independently
  • Quick learner
