Title of Course

PSYC 2F23, Statistics and Research Design in the Behavioural Sciences

Compensation 

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. 

· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour. 

· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour. 

Duties 

The number of nominal hours assigned to a Course Coordinator may vary from department to department and from course to stipend will depend on course enrolment but will consist of .6 hours x number of registered and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications 

Applicants must have worked as a course coordinator for PSYC 2F23. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of all course topics, including how to deal with students, research design and statistical analysis, specifically as it pertains to the area of Psychology and the ability to explain these concepts, and the mathematical calculations and assumptions underlying them clearly in order to assist the teaching assistants in overcoming difficulties that they encounter when dealing with the topics and issues covered by or related to this course.Applicants must be able to work independently to solve problems, be organized, pay attention to details and procedures, and deal with the problems and issues associated with the course in a timely manner and deal with the teaching assistants’ and students questions’ effectively.Applicants must be able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, fellow teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and audio-video conferencing.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to identify the course for consideration of equivalency. For courses taken at Brock, identify the course (, XXXX 1F90). For courses taken elsewhere, provide a transcript (a copy of your course outline and grade summary from your student self-serve at that institution is sufficient); highlight the course and provide the course description. Failure to provide the required documentation to support the request for consideration of equivalency will result in an incomplete application.
