Title of Course

PSYC 2F23, Statistics & Research Design in the Behavioural Sciences

Compensation 

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. 

· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour. 

· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour. 

· In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. 

Duties 

The nominal workload for this position is 120 hours per full credit course appointment. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate successful academic teaching assistant experience in PSYC 2F23.Applicants must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of, and be able to clearly explain, all course topics, including descriptive and inferential statistics (both mathematical calculations and underlying assumptions), probability, and research design, specifically as they pertain to the area of Psychology. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to assist students in overcoming difficulties that they encounter when dealing with the topics and issues covered by or related to this course. Applicants must have excellent time management skills so that they can cover the required course material during the available tutorial time. Applicants must be able to work independently to solve problems, be organized, pay attention to details and procedures, and deal with the problems and issues associated with the course in a timely manner and deal with the teaching assistants’ and students questions’ effectively.Applicants must be able to present material/conduct seminars remotely.Applicants must be able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, fellow teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and audio-video conferencing and conduct seminars and office hours via audio-video conferencing.Applicants must be available for on-campus activities during all scheduled lecture times.
