Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team We currently have an opportunity for Manager, Strategic Sourcing of Professional and Corporate Services to develop national sourcing strategies against various business objectives for internal clients. You will be an expert in indirect procurement with superior communication and negotiation skills. As a valued manager working in a hybrid environment you will be required to be on site either in office a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing of Professional and Corporate Services is a member of our leadership team with responsibility for developing National sourcing strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, developing relationships and partnering with Managers and Directors across the company in a fast-paced environment.

Manage the following spend categories: Professional/Corporate Services such as Travel & Entertainment, Consulting, Financial Services, HR, Merchandising, Insurance; and beyond as needed Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis; leveraging key-insights to inform and support the category strategy development process Manage the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation Prepare and hold business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities, and/or challenges Lead supplier engagement requests from business units, understanding their business needs, strategies and objectives in order to align our deliverables to meet Sobeys procurement policy and processes Manage multiple deals simultaneously, often to tight deadlines, while maintaining compliance and reporting requirements Drive value in supply chain/total cost of ownership sourcing initiatives through early engagement, commercial acumen, market knowledge, and contract negotiation. Activities also include supplier engagement, contract negotiation, solution/supplier evaluations (including due diligence) and supplier selection activities Awareness and management of initiative-based business unit spend as it relates to third party engagements, in order to create P&L and cost avoidance recognized by the business and organization Develop trust-based relationships with department stakeholders by leveraging third party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost, and mitigate supply-related risks Work with engagement-based key partners to provide Sr. Management and Sourcing Executives with contract overview, identifying commercial terms, risks, mitigations and spend policy approvals for review, feedback and approvals prior to completion of agreement

What you have to offer:

Minimum of 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience; indirect procurement function preferred 5+ years of experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, Demonstrate a minimum of 3+ years of experience in sourcing large categories of spend, such as Tax, Professional Services, Corporate Services, Financial Services, Consulting, HR, Insurance, as well as other major categories of spend Knowledge and understanding of Strategic Sourcing practices and standards is an asset Commercial acumen and business judgment  Drive and determination to flawlessly execute and deliver  Strong written/verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Stakeholder/Relationship Management and Networking skills  Experience in Project Management with strong analytical skills Fluency with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint Tenacious negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms Extremely customer-focused, taking the time to understand the needs of the business Strong analytical and financial skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data Strong analytical and financial skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics Embraces fact‐based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
