Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Role
Write, transcribe, and proofread legal and contract documents Manage external requests, claims and insurance certificates Process third party and vendor invoices File, organize, scan, manage, copy, and fax legal documents in a timely manner Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminder Perform administrative tasks related to the position, including triage and management of requests, claims and billing
Desired skills
Ability to manage several requests and files at the same time (multitasking) Ability to work under pressure Good oral and written communication, English and French Ability to work as part of a team Strong organizational skills and autonomy Attention to detail
Requirements
3+ years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant Familiarity with legal documents and terminology Working knowledge of litigation management software systems Knowledge of contract and claims management as asset Proficiency of Microsoft Office suite, mainly Outlook, Word and Excel Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines Able to work as a team with attorneys and other colleagues Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor Superior written and oral communication skills in both English and French Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines Transport/logistic experience is an asset
