partnerstaffingonbehalf of our Client is looking for a highly motivatedSenior MechanicalEngineer. You will play a key role in the design development anddelivery of mechanical systems for commercial and mixeduseprojects. You will work closely with architects structuralengineers and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects meetthe highest standards of efficiency sustainability andfunctionality.
Requirements
KeyResponsibilities:
- Leadthe design of mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and fireprotection for commercial and mixeduse buildings. Ensure designsmeet client specifications regulatory requirements and industrybestpractices.
- Overseemultiple projects simultaneously managing all phases from conceptdesign through construction and commissioning. Ensure projects arecompleted on time within scope and withinbudget.
- Providetechnical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers anddesigners. Review and approve design drawings calculations andspecifications.
- Workclosely with multidisciplinary teams including architectselectrical engineers and contractors to integrate mechanicalsystems into overall project designs. Participate in coordinationmeetings and contribute to integrated designprocesses.
- Incorporatesustainable design principles into mechanical system designs.Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and environmentallyresponsiblesolutions.
- Serveas the primary mechanical engineering point of contact for clients.Present design concepts provide technical advice and address clientconcerns throughout the projectlifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. A Master s degreeor specialized training in building systems engineering is anasset.
- Minimumof 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus oncommercial and mixeduseprojects.
- Proficientin mechanical design software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit and HVAC designtools)
- Strongunderstanding of mechanical system design energy modeling andsustainabilityprinciples.
- ProfessionalEngineer (P.Eng) designation in British Columbia isrequired.

Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include butare not limited to the following: Attend site meetings Serve asmain point of contact for the builder for any project-relatedquestions/requests Understand project specifications and objectivesProactively identify potential issues Report on milestone dates anddeliverables Respond to field issues and questions with engineeringand other resources as required Investigate claims promptly andresolve them fairly Proactive approach to change orders Support andengage in a collaborative work environment Liaise with Architect,Client, Contractor, Owner, Specialty Consultants, Project Manager,Job Captain and Project Engineer Complete time critical reportsincluding Request for Information, Contemplated Revisions, ChangeOrders, Field Review, Pricing Review, Progress Claim Review Issueand sign off on Site Deficiency Reports, verify and accept As BuiltDrawings and Operational and Maintenance Manuals and ensure allrequired information has been received prior to issuance of ClosingLetters Provide customer service levels that meet or exceedcustomers' expectations Actively work on multiple projectssimultaneously Overtime as required Education & Experience:Educational or trade background in electrical design Designbackground in building technology is a definite asset Minimum 5years of experience in a similar role Experience in buildingGeneral Reviews Excellent communication skills, both written andverbal Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion ofdeliverables Ability to communicate and work well with otherdepartments Excellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work under pressure Team and client-focusedSelf-motivated, hardworking, flexible Technical Abilities:Candidates must have a good working knowledge of currentconstruction practices, including working drawing production andconstruction reviews, as well as specifications, contracts andconsultant agreements.
