You will work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of efficiency, sustainability, and functionality.
Key Responsibilities• Lead the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for commercial and mixed-use buildings, ensuring designs meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing all phases from concept design through construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, reviewing and approving design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs, participating in coordination meetings and contributing to integrated design processes.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles into mechanical system designs, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and environmentally responsible solutions.
• Serve as the primary mechanical engineering point of contact for clients, presenting design concepts, providing technical advice, and addressing client concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, with a Master's degree or specialized training in building systems engineering being an asset.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on commercial and mixed-use projects.
• Proficient in mechanical design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical system design, energy modeling, and sustainability principles.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in British Columbia is required.
