Electrical Design Engineer for Commercial Projects

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for commercial and mixed-use projects.


Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems, for commercial and mixed-use buildings. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other team members to integrate electrical designs with other building systems. Participate in coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts and optimize system performance.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide advanced technical expertise in electrical engineering. Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, and review their work to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Innovation and Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable practices into electrical designs. Explore and implement innovative solutions that reduce energy consumption and enhance system performance.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their needs and expectations. Present design concepts, provide technical recommendations, and address any client concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the quality control process for electrical design and installation. Conduct site inspections to ensure systems are installed according to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed electrical design documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure all deliverables are completed on time.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on commercial and mixed-use projects. Experience in the Vancouver or BC market is preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP). Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in British Columbia is required.
  • Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
