AtkinsRéalis  is hiring a Quality Lead to support the Green Line Project The Green Line LRT (light rail transit) Project is the largest infrastructure investment in Calgary’s history. At 10-kms, it comes with $6.2billion in commitments from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and The City of Calgary. The Green Line LRT is designed to be both a transit system and a platform for future city building opportunities. It encourages redevelopment and investment in Calgary businesses and communities. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta .

The Quality Team of the City of Calgary Green Line Light Rail Transit Program is responsible for the development and implementation the Green Line Quality Management System (QMS) for the delivery of Phase 1 of the Green Line Program. The team ensures that City corporate quality policy and objectives are identified and addressed at all levels of decision-making from conceptual design through formation of the Program’s major contracts (design-bid-build, construction management, design-build-finance, and vehicle supply) and then delivery of each scope. The range of contract types requires a combination of both compliance and assurance activities.As Quality Lead and a member of the Quality Team you will support the Senior Manager Quality in the development and implementation of the Green Line QMS. Primary duties include: Implement and improve the overarching Quality Management System for the Program, including Program and project quality management plans, procedures and processes for compliance with the ISO 9001 standard Liaise with functional teams and Project Managers to implement the quality performance requirements for each contract delivery model and provide related quality assurance advice and interpretation. Participate in the review of quality management systems plans, procedures, inspection and test plans proposed by the Program’s consultants, vehicle supplier and contractors, and assess alignment with requirements. Participate in planning and performing quality audits of the Program’s selected consultants, vehicle supplier and contractors for conformance their documented quality management systems. Monitor and validate the operation of the Program QMS through internal audits, observations. Participate in the development of Quality Surveillance plans, assignments to quality assurance monitors and review surveillance reports Provide input to the annual QMS review Participate in planning and performing quality audits of internal processes for compliance with the documented Program and functional management systems plans, processes, and procedures. Monitor the NCR processes of the Program’s selected consultants, vehicle supplier and contractors. Assist in the collection, reporting and review of non-conformance reports (NCRs) for the City Program team Implement the QMS continuous improvement processes including facilitating Lessons Learned meetings and workshops Maintain collaborative working relationships with consultant and contractor quality professionals to share lessons learned and quality strategies for continual quality performance improvement. Support the development and reporting of quality metrics across the Projects and Program. Contribute to Project and Program quality management status reporting. Participate in Program and Project risk management (i.e. risk identification, response, monitoring and control). Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager Quality. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work is performed as directed by the Senior Manager Quality. SUPERVISORS TITLE & POSITION NUMBER: Senior Quality Manager SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervision of Quality Monitors, consultants and contractors. Minimum Qualifications: A university degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or civil engineering discipline preferred or equivalent professional education. Minimum 10 years design and construction quality management experience for engineering/construction of transit and/or large, complex high-profile multi partner construction projects. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. ISO 9001 lead auditor certification is desired. Previous experience for oversight of Light Rail Vehicle manufacturing and quality surveillance is desired. Experience with technical specifications, quality requirements and quality management for light rail transit or other similar linear development Oversight of contractor quality management in both assurance and compliance functions. Certifications: ISO 9001 lead auditor certification is desired. A professional designation, for example Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired Ability to safely operate an automobile for traveling to/from all job sites and offices with a minimum Class 5 driver license. Skills & Abilities: Strong management and leadership skills for effective interaction with Green Line personnel, consultants and contractors, professional development/mentoring of employees, facilitation skills, influencing and negotiating with individuals and groups. Quality management risk management, strong analytical and critical thinking, effective oral and written communication skills, are required to be effective in this position. Detailed knowledge of the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management standard and familiarity with industry codes, standards and regulations Experience in development, review and implementation of Quality Manuals, Quality System Procedures, Inspection and Test Plans Working Conditions: Balance between office environment, field office and contractor construction sites Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer?
