Business Unit Manager

The BusinessUnit Manager is responsible for all aspects of production planning.This includes creating production schedules determining appropriatedelivery dates and considering factors such as equipment staffingand raw material availability.
EssentialFunctions:
Provide leadershipfor the successful daytoday operations.
Oversee all management aspects of production and warehouse staff.
Resolve material and capacity issues to ensureontime delivery.
Plan and communicate dailyweekly and monthly production requirements with the operations teamto ensure efficient workflow.
Monitorshortages backlog and inventory levels for assigned manufacturingareas to optimize delivery performance and minimize inventoryinvestment.
Ensure the technical competence ofproduction staff through training and maintain appropriate trainingrecords.
Participate in quality improvementinitiatives as required.
Maintain a clean andorderly production environment adhering to documented procedures.
Keep procedures updated as changes occur inprocesses.
Analyze actual production laborhours against standard labor hours and report discrepancies andtrends as required.
Ensure the productionenvironment complies with all environmental and safety regulations.
Participate in Health and Safety GMP and HACCPtraining as required.
Perform other duties asrequired.
JobSpecifications:
Experience inmanufacturing production management and production planningprocesses.
Indepth knowledge of forecastingplanning production scheduling and inventory management principles.
Postsecondary education with 5 years ofmanufacturing experience in a leadership position.
Ability to work in a fastpaced teamoriented environment.
Strong leadership communication and timemanagement skills.
**Job Qualifications:**
5 years of progressive experience in aleadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.
Strong computer skills including proficiency withMicrosoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint Access) for dataanalysis and trend monitoring.
Experience withcontinuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma 5S and LeanManufacturing.
Broad understanding of safetysystems and enforcement of safety policies.
Demonstrated leadership teambuilding and coaching skills.
Ability to motivate employees assess anddevelop their skills.
Excellent interpersonalcommunication and listening skills.
Adaptableand flexible in dynamic environments.
Stronganalytical and decisionmaking abilities.
Ability to work with and lead teams in a collaborative environment.
Highly motivated andresultsoriented.
PhysicalDemands:
May be required tostand sit or walk for extended periods.
Engaging in bending stooping squatting and ladder climbing may benecessary.
Must be able to work in varyingweather and temperature conditions including extreme heat humidityand cold.
May be required to lift heavyobjects (up to 25 kg or 50 lbs).
**Health andSafety:**
Perform all job tasks safely andresponsibly ensuring team members do the same.
Participate in required Health and Safety GMP and HACCP training.
Report accidents incidents and unsafeconditions.
Report damages to property andmachinery.
Understand and use PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
