Job Summary

Arcadis is seeking a Business Unit Director to lead the Buildings Engineering team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the business unit's presence in the country, implementing the Places strategy, and developing a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategy Implementation: Lead the business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance, service quality delivery, and profitable growth.
  2. Team Development: Recruit, set objectives, and review performance to ensure staff are developed, driven, and have the necessary skills to deliver program objectives.
  3. Business Planning: Develop and implement the business plan, ensuring the team understands their role in achieving the plan's objectives.
  4. Client Development: Deliver service excellence to foster growth in organic revenue in the business unit.
  5. Relationship Building: Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction.
  6. Talent Development: Promote career development by directing identified individuals to appropriate development programs.
  7. Risk Management: Ensure compliance with governance processes in the business unit to achieve service excellence and client satisfaction.
  8. Market Understanding: Keep an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the business unit's clients and the market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities.
  9. Cooperation: Develop relationships throughout Arcadis to maximize opportunities to cross-sell and trade-up.
Requirements

You should be a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in Canada and have at least 10+ years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm.

You will be able to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose and demonstrate significant leadership capability.

You will have a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility.

You will bring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization, particularly at senior levels.

You are an excellent communicator and skilled at building relationships.

You have the technical knowledge to recognize and manage risk in running a design-led Business Unit.

You have well-developed commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry and demonstrated entrepreneurial behavior.
