About the role

We are looking for a Property Claims Specialist I to join our growing team

This opportunity can be based in any of the following Intact Ontario offices: London/Mississauga ( Century Ave)/Ottawa.

What you'll do here:

Evaluate property damage and evaluate replacement or restoration requirements including direct and in-person contact with insured, claimants, and service providers. Prepare repair estimates using an automated appraisal system.  Obtains from contractor’s repair cost agreements or quotations on the restoration. Monitors and update labour and material costs to be paid within their region. Compose summary reports on vendor performance and, if necessary, formulates recommendations for further action. Maintain effective communication channels with claims departments.  Establish and maintain productive business relationships with contractors and other service providers.  Assist in the screening and review of contractors’ performance to meet professional and corporate standards. Manage and maintain automated appraisal system queue(s) and audit functions.


What you bring to the table:

University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role High-level knowledge of the Xactimate/XactAnalysis estimating software. A minimum of 3 years related experience  Comprehensive knowledge of construction and repair procedures  Effective verbal communication skills with experience in interviewing, coaching and dealing with clients  Good written communication skills to draft claims reports  Computer proficient
