We are looking for a Director of Revenue to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will be expected to lead our revenue team, overseeing the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly revenue reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and various other financial documents. You will also provide expert advice on revenue recognition matters and contribute to customer and contract opportunities.


Responsibilities:

• Serve as the revenue recognition subject matter expert for Canada

• Lead the Revenue Team in managing and reviewing monthly revenue journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and associated royalties and rebates

• Oversee the monthly review of revenues, cash collection, and bad debt

• Provide expert advice on revenue recognition matters and research accounting issues to ensure compliance with generally accepted compliance principles

• Review and prepare month-end revenue reports, commentaries, and variance analysis

• Oversee the quarterly contract review process and provide technical expertise oversight on related matters

• Resolve any unresolved revenue recognition issues promptly and efficiently

• Contribute to customer and contract opportunities, providing valuable input

• Support the FP& A team in revenue, rebates, and royalties budgeting and forecasting

• Mentor and coach the Revenue Team to ensure their professional growth and development

• Conduct regular training sessions on revenue recognition policies and procedures for sales and finance teams

• Oversee ad hoc projects to simplify and automate the month-end revenue closing process

• Ensure observance of all corporate revenue standards for finance and control areas

• Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.


●     7+ years of experience in the accounting field with management experience

●     Experience working for a global corporation and Big 4 Audit Firm

●     Strong accounting skills, including revenue accounting and complex contract review

●     CPA designation

●     Bachelor’s Degree in accounting

●     Proficiency in Excel
