The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager reports directly to the Director of Quality.

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a Quality Assurance program (CARS573.09).
  • Provide an unbiased picture of the AMO's performance, to verify that activities and results comply with the MPM and confirm that the MPM and the systems and procedures described within it remain effective.
  • Ensure that the program as a minimum, cover all functions defined within the MPM and include all elements necessary to ensure effectiveness, quality and safety.
  • Ensure that the AMO is in compliance with the applicable regulations and with the MPM by addressing operational and environmental conditions, organizational structure, record keeping systems, etc., and ensure that all referenced procedures remain applicable and effective.
  • Perform the audits on a progressive or segmented basis, provided that the entire organization is audited within the applicable interval as detailed in the Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Control activities related to the program by using your Quality Assurance Inspector employees or external agents. Quality Assurance Inspectors may be assigned responsibility for other duties, in additional to those related to the program, provided that the program responsibilities take precedence over all other responsibilities.
  • Ensure that a proportion of random audits are carried out while maintenance is in progress, including work being performed at nighttime.
  • Review and maintain the Quality Assurance Manual for currency of information.
  • Perform the Quality Assurance responsibilities in the IQSMS system pertaining to the Audits.
  • Overview of the follow-up of the IQSMS reports as required.
  • Overview of the internal audit findings.
  • Conduct investigations as required.
  • Provide guidance to the Quality Assurance team.
  • Provide overview of the supplier self-audits and maintenance of the vendors/suppliers list.
  • Completion of self-audits and maintenance of customer files.
  • Promote company values, vision and mission.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Quality.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated capability and competency in the field of expertise.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with other individuals throughout the organization.
  • Processes fundamental aircraft knowledge.
  • Superior knowledge of CARs.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Quality related role within Aviation.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within management/supervisory role.
