In this role, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of leading and managing DEI programs for the Canadian Market. Your focus will be on driving the development of impactful strategies, evaluating suppliers, and skillfully negotiating to achieve outstanding outcomes in terms of quality, cost, performance, and supplier diversity targets. Leading matrixed teams, developing effective DEI 
strategies, and overseeing sourcing and procurement operations will be essential aspects of this position.


Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and developing a high-performing team while serving as a key communicator and decision-maker for national DEI initiatives and projects. Your contributions will significantly influence the success and progress of our organization in the DEI arena.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


You will be responsible for carrying out the following duties specific to your position:


Create a Vision:

Leadership Commitment Call to Action Strategy

Manage Indigenous Engagement Governance:

Terms of Reference Working Groups Steering Committee Programme Management

Policy Owner:

Develop and own a reconciliation plan

Strategic Sourcing Engagement:

Indigenous business enterprise engagement Drive indigenous spend % Minority Owned business enterprise Female Owned business enterprise Small Business Owners LBGTQ+ Business Owners Diversity Network Supplier Management

Partnerships:

Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations Promote Truth and Reconciliation internally and external parties Explore joint venture opportunities with Indigenous owned firms

External Recognition:

Marketing Responsibilities: Production of collateral / website development / external publications / white papers / participation in forums

Accreditation Management and program roll as example but not limited to:

CCIB – with PAIR Leadership WBE Canada WEConnect International CAMSC – Striving ambassador of Diversity

Community Engagement Activities:

Employee volunteering Cultural awareness and training Volunteering Co-Owner of Indigenous Recruitment Principles


WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor’s degree or MBA and/or extensive Supply Chain Management experience in the context of DEI A strategic leader with demonstrated excellence in in leading and managing DEI programs and initiatives; demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies In-depth understanding of DEI best practices, concepts, and trends; familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and frameworks related to diversity and inclusion. Awareness of cultural competency and ability to navigate cross-cultural dynamic Strong management and leadership skills with a high degree of accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to a team approach. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to lead negotiations with strong ethical standards and a commitment to fairness, equity, and social justice Must have excellent presentation skills, with ability to present to varying audiences Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to write effectively, organize and maintain project documentation and prepare reports as required. Ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
