Who we are
Moneris was created as a joint investment between RBC and BMO Bank of Montreal (including Harris Bank) in December 2000. By maintaining the tradition of security and strength of our parent banks, today we are Canada's #1 processor, and one of North America's largest.
We are looking for impact-driven people to join us in re-imagining commerce. We know that the best products and merchant experience must come from great people, which is why we are committed to you, your wellness, and your growth.
If you’re ready to make your mark on the future of FinTech and at one of Canada's top employers, come join us at Moneris
What you'll do
Reporting into Moneris’ Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), the DEI Engagement Specialist will be the go-to, operational support person for the DEI team, with the primary function of the role being DEI engagement, communications and initiative implementation for a broad spectrum of DEI programs, trainings and key strategic initiatives. The DEI team works collaboratively and is invested in being a supportive space for mutual learning so we can all grow, thrive and belong.
- DEI digital content and online community management
- Lead content creation and manage weekly updates for the internal DEI microsite, which will involve collaborating with colleagues in the DEI team, Employee Inclusion Groups (EIGs), Marketing Communications (MarComm) and other cross-functional partners across the enterprise.
- Act as Community Manager for the internal DEI social media platform (Yammer), which will entail fostering engagement, connection and creating a safe space that welcomes all team members to share/post, learn and engage with each other on DEI-related topics.
- DEI communications
- Develop Moneris’ external DEI communications plan, which will involve the development and launch of Moneris’ public-facing DEI page and external communications. This work will be done in collaboration with team members from the Talent Acquisition team and MarComm.
- Draft MarComm project briefs and develop content for different DEI initiatives e.g. workshops, guest speaker events, trainings, Self-ID campaigns, etc.
- DEI event and training support
- Oversee logístical planning and implementation support for DEI events and trainings e.g. registration, invitation, show flow, evaluation forms, pre-and-post event reviews, tech support, moderation, co-facilitation, etc.
- Equity-centered initiative support
- Support DEI team and HR partners on key projects aimed at growing and evolving equity throughout the employee experience e.g. research, listening activities, pilot initiatives, etc.
- Support DEI team in various capacities with DEI events, sponsorships, trainings and strategic partnership projects.
- Comply with corporate policies established by Moneris Corporation including but not limited to Moneris Code of Conduct, Technology Policy & Privacy Policy.
What you bring
- Strong communication skills: You are someone who knows how to connect, inspire and engage people through written and verbal communication. You’ll leverage those skills to support the development and implementation of DEI events, communications and campaigns as part of Moneris’ DEI strategy.
- Digital content creator: You have experience developing visually powerful content for websites and social media platforms.
- Change management experience: You get that DEI is all about getting people comfortable with being uncomfortable. Ideally, you’ve helped implement projects or initiatives at an organization and understand how to navigate the ‘trickies’ of influencing people to support and adopt new ways to thinking and being even when it’s uncomfortable. A trusted relationship builder and strong collaborator is how people would describe you.
- Growth mindset: You are adaptive and thrive working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You’re a self-starter who is empowered to jump in, bring fresh ideas forward and get things done.
Must-have experience, knowledge, skills & abilities
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Communications or Social Sciences (open to other connected disciplines).
- Interdisciplinary backgrounds are welcome.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution for formal education.
- 3-5 years of experience working in DEI, Project Management, Marketing or Communications
Nice-to-have experience, knowledge, skills & abilities
- You’re fluent in English. Bilingualism (French) is an asset but not required.
What you get
- The chance to be part of one of Canada’s top employers and leader in FinTech
- Competitive pay and annual bonus program based on individual performance and productivity
- Emphasis on Wellness - Meeting Free Fridays (MF2), company-wide holiday closure, just to name a few
