**Job Purpose**:
This role is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Indigenous Relations (IR) team through coordinating event planning, communication, data for reporting, and providing fresh and innovative ideas to all team initiatives.
The successful incumbent will also be providing support in the coordination and administration of diversity, anti-racism policies, programs, projects and initiatives and reviewing and processing highly confidential and sensitive information.
**What you will do**:
- Enhance the organizational culture by assisting the Head of EDI and Manger, Indigenous Initiatives to ensure that the principles of Indigenous Inclusion are integrated into processes and programs and provides advice in addressing systemic racism and exclusionary practices to ensure equitable representation and inclusion of First Nations, Metis, Indigenous business groups and local community organizations.
- Acts as a lead to coordinate Indigenous Initiatives specific pages on IO’s internal webpages, ensuring they are up-to-date, confirming all pages are accessible, and providing continuous improvement by ensuring all contents are relevant to the organization.
- Prepares various statistical, productivity and trend reports and analyses for quarterly departmental, IO Leadership updates, Board meetings and Town Hall, etc.
- Assist with construction, maintenance of Indigenous Engagement (IE) initiatives to assist with monitoring workplans and strategic plan to ensure goals are met in a timely fashion. Support project work associated with these initiatives, as needed.
- Collect and construct presentations on IE progress of the EDI Strategy on a monthly and quarterly basis (in support of EDI communication plan).
- First point of contact for all Indigenous Initiative inquiries via departmental mailboxes. Provide coordination support as needed.
- Lead coordination for engagement events both internal and external, such as cultural awareness activities, meetings with Indigenous leaders and communities and/or organizations.
- Support the Indigenous Employee Resource Group (ERG) in order to meet their quarterly and annual goals.
- Build trust-based relationships with the Indigenous ERG Lead and partner with them to power initiatives.
**Who we are looking for**:
- Knowledgeable about Indigenous reconciliation and inclusion including the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
- Demonstrated intercultural experience and strong verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of DEI at both the regional and global level.
- A few years of progressive work experience in a coordinator function.
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- Experience using data analytics platforms to inform storytelling and presentations.
- An understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and discrimination and harassment prevention frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse constituencies and communities in a team environment.
