Position Summary and Purpose

Join Corby as we pivot towards a demand-focused approach that drives our brand growth strategy As the Manager of Market & Consumer Intelligence, you'll be at the heart of shaping our business strategy with insights that marry market opportunities and consumer perspectives.

  • Influence and Impact: Be the internal advocate for our demand space strategy, guiding both Marketing and Commercial teams from portfolio strategy to consumer journeys.
  • Strategic Insights: Drive business planning and forecasting by articulating consumer behavior and market opportunities, identifying trends, whitespace opportunities, and conducting competitive analysis.
  • Voice of the Consumer: Ensure the consumer’s voice is heard throughout the organization, providing actionable, fact-based recommendations.
  • Innovative Solutions: Bring best-in-class solutions, tools, and insights from a variety of sources, including Pernod Ricard global teams and external partners.
  • Campaign Leadership: Lead campaign evaluation from a consumer insights perspective, collaborating with our Marketing Effectiveness team to enhance future plans.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct consumer and shopper research including methodological recommendations, scoping, designing, running studies and reporting of data across a variety of tools and vendors.
  • Contribute to Corby’s portfolio prioritization vision and implementation, monitoring key battleground KPIs, and providing optimization recommendations.
  • Refresh and integrate demand space strategy across the organization, ensuring brand, communication, and innovation strategies focus on winning in key demand spaces.
  •  Provide monthly market overviews on consumer behavior and industry opportunities, supporting sales forecasting.
  • Support Corby’s insights function across multiple areas, including brand equity tracking, concept testing, creative testing, campaign evaluation, social listening, shopper panel data, and competitive ad spend analysis.
  • Offer guidance on media and channel strategy within brand plans using path-to-purchase studies.
  • Management of the consumer insights budget, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of vendors and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the Canadian Whisky forecasting initiative, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure proper planning of whisky stocks.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; forward-thinking.
  • Lateral thinker with the ability to integrate various data inputs into a comprehensive view, driving insights and storytelling from data signals.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer insights, strategy, or brand management.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for presentations.
