We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Mississauga, Ontario. This role is primarily centered around executing day-to-day financial transactions in accounts payable. The workplace is a fast-paced environment that requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of the accounts payable cycle and general accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the accounts payable cycle by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices for both wholesale and retail operations. • Act as a point of contact for vendor accounts to resolve any accounts payable issues. • Prepare settlement of accounts payable via various payment methods including credit card payments, EFT or wire, checks. • Allocate bank fees & merchant credit card fees on a monthly basis. • Reconcile and settle monthly credit card statements and assist in preparing documents and sales reports for managers and executives as required. • Prepare monthly journal entries (AP closure) and coordinate with departments for accuracy. • Perform filing as required and engage in AP and AR backup activities when required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role. • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) processes. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data. • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Ability to work collaboratively with the finance team and other departments. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in processing payments and maintaining financial records. • Good communication skills to liaise with vendors and address queries related to payments. • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
