Your Role
As an Assistant Project Manager with our British Columbia Business Unit, you’ll join our team of experts who lead major capital building and infrastructure projects. Working with communities across British Columbia, our team is part of bringing meaningful change by assisting communities gain access to housing, education and healthcare where people live, as well as delivering clean drinking water, and fostering opportunities for economic participation and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
Work alongside experienced project managers to learn the keys to client satisfaction and successful project delivery Provide project support to the Project Manager(s) including schedule updates, progress reports and preparation of tender and contract documents Engage in on-site organization of contractors and consultants Attend project and site meetings to capture action items Provide a communication path between the Project Manager(s) and contractors, consultants and suppliers Provide relief support on other projects when available to do so Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System
Qualifications
A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience) preferred A minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience representing owners to multiple stakeholders to deliver projects of varying size and scope in a range of sectors including, healthcare, education and municipal/provincial Actively working towards obtaining the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute. Previous exposure to consultant and design management, construction contract administration and project financial an asset An understanding of project delivery models, including design-build, construction management, design-bid-build Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills A results-oriented approach with the ability to take responsibility Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applicationsDon’t have every single qualification?
