We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our exciting organization As a key member of our team, you will work alongside an experienced Project Manager, supporting them in leading a full scale project. Under the leadership of the experienced Project Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
- In a vertically integrated project, assist the Development Team and Project Manager in design development and constructability review
- Support the Project Manager in leading the planning and implementation of the project, client and consultant coordination
- Support in the development of full scale project plans, and implement and manage project changes
- In conjunction with the site superintendent, and with the support of the Project Manager, manage timelines, track project deliverables, and monitor and maintain agreed upon production rates
- Provide a budget and schedule at various stages of design development
- Support with budget management and resource allocation throughout the life of the project, including human resources
- Forecast costs to complete and project trends using data generated by corporate software (Spectrum)
- Ensure Traine QA/QC programs, mock-ups and check sheets are compiled and adhered to by the site team
- Provide continuous direction and support to the site project team, and assist the site superintendent to delegate the proper type of work to the appropriate employees and / or sub-trades
- Monitor and report progress and financial and status reports to stakeholders using advanced functions within relevant software
- Interface and maintain positive, long-term relationships with client representatives, consultant representatives, subcontractors, select trades, construction partners, and suppliers
- Assess and provide early warning to stakeholders regarding potential risks, and implement strategies to mitigate assessed risks
- Support the planning and organization of resource management and procurement strategies for project assignments
- Tender and award scopes of work using pre-approved subcontracts, Traine Supplemental Conditions and Traine purchase order system
- Lead by example and observe all applicable safety requirements, training, and certification including CSTS, WHMIS, and other appropriate designations
- Participate in Safety Audits, COR Certification and Incident Investigations
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction, building technology or engineering.
- Gold Seal Constructor or PMP designation, or working towards it, is an asset.
- 5+ years of construction experience preferably multi-family.
- 3 years of direct work experience in construction project management.
- Knowledgeable in building and construction.
- Great communicator.
- Meets commitments.
- Able to work with Microsoft Project, Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Understanding fundamentals of contract administration.
- Knowledge of OH&S regulations and related building codes is essential.
- Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
