HOURS - Shifts are Monday to Friday (9:00am to 5:00pm) with one late shift (11:00am to 7:00pm) per week on a set schedule. Some flexibility in work hours may be required.

How You Will Make an Impact

The successful candidate will extend our mission to residential and non-residential clients through the provision of respectful and appropriate housing support services. This may include case management, crisis intervention and supportive counseling. The incumbent must be able to work independently in a challenging and rewarding values-based environment.

  • Provide receptionist duties for the program, answering phones and doors, greeting and directing service-users and visitors as the first point of contact
  • Provide basic clerical support such as basic data entry, record keeping and filing, maintaining program inventory and supplies, sending emails, submission and follow up of maintenance requests and work orders
  • Assisting Reaching Home Division programs with determining program eligibility through the use of an assessment tool
  • Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and common spaces
  • Work takes place primarily in the office however, opportunities arise that may include visits in the community to purchase program supplies, drop off items, or pick up donations
  • Must be willing and able to assist with all aspects of program operation in a hands-on capacity
  • Ability to work independently, cooperatively and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Preserve the dignity of all persons by communicating in a calm, welcoming, and professional manner
  • Responsible for participating in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs, procedures, procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Minimum 1-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Post-secondary education, work or related experience in Admin or a related field is an asset
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, time management, organization, and ability to prioritize workload
  • Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
  • Valid G license required
  • Basic knowledge of and commitment to working within a person centered approach
