Responsibilities

The successful incumbent shall be responsible for providing a variety of privacy services, including:

Deliver industry and working expertise on privacy engagements through client interactions, development of reports, remediation work, management presentations and the creation of high-quality deliverables. Responsible for delivery of privacy services to clients such as: Conducting privacy program or solution assessments and audits against applicable privacy legislation. Privacy program development, including governance, policies, processes and controls for embedding privacy into organization’s practices. Privacy program remediation including development of roles and responsibilities, framework, reporting structure, policies, processes and procedures. Facilitating client interviews/workshops with relevant stakeholders and development of Data inventories and Data Flows. Development and delivery of privacy training and awareness sessions to client teams (business and IT). Assisting in development of privacy assessment frameworks, tools and templates, audit plans and execution (IA, SOC). Conducting research on privacy legislation changes and applicability to client environment Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss scope of the project, roles and responsibilities, risk areas, deliverables, and deadlines. Providing clients with practical and meaningful recommendations related to privacy and the protection of personal information. Support in the development of the privacy services and business development activities to meet client needs. Maintain high quality control by delivering high quality work. Support with project management related activities such as scope , resource and work management. Assist with business and practice development, proposals, marketing material, internal and external presentations, blogging and/or white paper development. Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business and community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities. Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes. 

Skills and Experience

Minimum 2 years of working experience conducting privacy program assessments, privacy impact assessments and implementation of privacy programs in a consulting environment. Knowledge and working experience of federal and provincial privacy laws in Canada, including PIPEDA, Bill C-27, Law 25, CASL, PHIPA, FIPA, in the US , CCPA (California), HIPAA, and internationally GDPR. A keen interest in privacy legislation trends in Canada and internationally.  Strong organizational skills, including dedication to teamwork, time-management, strong communication skills (both oral and written), ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities, strong analytical and reasoning skills, attention to detail. Ability to read situations and modify behavior to build quality, diverse relationships. Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving privacy landscape. Team growth mindset and ability to leverage feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths, and address development areas. Willingness to learn, research and use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the subject matter area. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong client interview facilitation skills and report writing to meet audience expectations (word, ppt). Working knowledge and implementation of Privacy Programs, policies, and practices. Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, law, technology, information management, data analytics or a related field. Privacy certifications CCIP/C, CCIP/T, CIPM would be considered an asset Understanding of IT security and governance frameworks, such as ISO 27001/2, NIST and COBIT would be an asset. Experience with privacy enhancing technologies and tools (Consent, encryption, anonymization, remote audit, and enforcement, etc.). Experience with implementation of tools for consent management would be considered an asset. Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset. Some travel required.
