Job Title: Privacy Specialist

Holt Renfrew is seeking a skilled Privacy Specialist to join our team, responsible for developing and leading our privacy and CASL program to ensure compliance with Canadian federal and privacy legislation.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional judgment and business acumen, with a strong work ethic and proficiency in Microsoft Office. They will be responsible for managing our existing privacy, CASL, and risk management and compliance program, as well as tracking and responding to access to personal information requests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and respond to access to personal information requests in compliance with federal and provincial privacy laws
  • Spreadsheet and track incoming emails in the privacy office mailbox, ensuring prompt responses
  • Manage and update the annual privacy training, including deployment and completion tracking
  • Conduct daily audits of CASL consents and e-newsletter opt-out links
  • Coordinate and support business areas with the implementation of key action items to ensure compliance with federal and provincial privacy legislation
  • Manage and support internal audit function with any open actions items on risk register impacting privacy and CASL compliance
  • Assign and track privacy and CASL related complaints, issues, breaches, projects, and consultations
  • Maintain Privacy Office SharePoint Site
  • Conduct data analytics for Privacy Office
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills, including follow-ups, attention to detail, and time management
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts appropriate to audience
  • Demonstrate ability to be discreet when handling sensitive personal information and topics/situations
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Excellent analytical capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player and an individual contributor as required
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Independent and self-starter
  • Ability to problem solve and think outside the box
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • French language (written and spoken) would be considered an asset
