Who we are

At Pratt & Whitney, we believe that powered flight has transformed – and will continue to transform – the world. That’s why we work with an explorer’s heart and a perfectionist’s grit to design, build, and service the world’s most advanced aircraft engines. We do this across a diverse portfolio – including Commercial Engines, Military Engines, Business Aviation, General Aviation, Regional Aviation, and Helicopter Aviation – and as a way of turning possibilities into realities for our customers. This is how we at Pratt & Whitney approach our work, and this is why we are inspired to go beyond.

Our expectations

At our Plant 22 Engineering and Engine assembly site, we design and deliver highly technical products for our OEM customers. We are looking to bring into our team a Senior Manager, Facilities and Maintenance. In this role, you will oversee a team of skilled tradespeople, general maintenance staff, and external contractors responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing equipment in our manufacturing shop.

What your day-to-day will look like?

Oversee planning, organizing, scheduling, and improving maintenance for the shop and facilities. Ensure proper functioning of machines through ongoing inspection and predictive maintenance. For new equipment and process changes, ensure all safety and environmental procedural requirements are met. Work with other site Facility Teams to ensure the buildings’ infrastructure (HVAC, steam, chilled water, etc.) is functioning, maintained, and meets the needs of the business.  Track key performance indicators that drive machine uptime, the timely resolution of machines released back to production, and the management of spare parts inventory.  Maintain up-to-date training for all employees and develop training plans for skill development, shop needs, and a matrix for job progression. Craft work schedules to assure the site objectives are integrated with internal and external facility service providers. Aid in moving existing equipment and installing newly acquired capital equipment. Generate statements of work and purchase orders prior to contractors starting approved work onsite. Conduct pre-job safety meetings to ensure clear communication of work is provided to contractors. Use SAP and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to generate purchase orders to ensure the contractor has a valid method of payment prior to starting contract work. Craft the work schedules and initiate purchase orders for the rearrangement of machinery to reorganize various departments. Update maintenance charts and reports accordingly to provide visibility into business health. Put in place the tools and processes to maintain regulatory compliance and the very high reliability of the facilities. Participate in the annual budget process of the business unit and will be accountable for maintaining and controlling the expenses of his services.
