Accounting Assistant

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in the automotive industry, based in Markham, Ontario. As an Accountant, you will be tasked with ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications, maintaining precise customer credit records, and resolving any customer inquiries. Additionally, you will monitor customer accounts and take suitable action when necessary.
Responsibilities:
•
Accurate and timely posting of transactions to customer accounts in compliance with financial policies and procedures, including performing appropriate reconciliations.
•
Coordinate customer payment requests through banks.
•
Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to investigate and resolve issues in timely manner.
•
Support with journal entries and reports at month-end as required.
•
Support the audit process by providing the information as required by the auditors.
College/University degree with a specialization in Accounting/Finance
•
Minimum 1 to 2 years work experience.
•
Prior experience with the financial service industry would be an asset.
•
Good written and verbal communication skills.
•
Knowledge of MS Office, Microsoft Excel.
•
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, well organized and ability to work towards tight reporting deadlines.
•
Enthusiastic about learning and excellent teamwork.
