Accounting Assistant

**POSITION TITLE**: Accounting Assistant (6-month contract with possibility of extension)
**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department
- Review and verify pertinent information
- Manage and sort electronic documents
- Sorting and managing couriers and mail
- Completing other special projects as required
- Assist the accounting group as needed
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Experience**:
- At least 1-2 years of administrative experience in an office setting
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in business is an asset but not required
**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES REQUIRED**:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization skills and with an eye for detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of office administration duties
- Good business judgment and the ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize without frequent direction
- Resourceful; able to solve problems and work independently
- Team player who is willing to take initiative and assist others when the need arises
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
