They are seeking a strategic leader for the role of Head of Labour Relations (Group Director). This key leadership position will oversee labour and employee relations across our client’s national retail and distribution network. The successful candidate will drive labour relations strategies aligned with business objectives, manage collective bargaining processes, and lead the company’s proactive and reactive response to union activities. This role also involves assessing labour relations risks, advising on lawful practices, and fostering a positive work environment through best employment practices and employee education.

Experience with unionized environments and a strong background in labour relations strategy are essential for this role.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategic leader with extensive experience in labour relations, collective bargaining, and team development, particularly within the Canadian landscape. They are adept at identifying labour risks, guiding organizational change, and influencing decisions that align with company values and labour strategies. A proven team builder, they drive mindset shifts among operations leaders and take a proactive approach to ensure compliance and readiness to handle labour issues. This individual is a strong collaborator, partnering effectively with corporate leaders across functions, and maintains the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
