Customer Service Clerk

We're looking for a mission-driven Customer Service Clerk who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB

Welcoming and greeting people entering the SmartLife Centre. Assists with SmartLife Center daily consumer transactions such as answering consumer inquiries, scheduling and managing consumer consultations for SmartLife Solutions. Assists with processing consumer payment transactions through CNIB’s Point-of-Sale System, triaging and aiding in troubleshooting defective products with consumers. Support managing inventory, re-ordering, stock, and fulfilling customer orders. Assists with in-person and virtual product demonstrations for high and low-tech SmartLife products. Assists customers with completing transactions in-person, online and over the phone. Support with processing orders and collecting payments for client’s accessing products through external funding sources. Provide information to clients, customers, and members of the general public about CNIB products and services.

Requirements

Who you are:

Experience and Qualifications

Experience in customer service and working with the public. University or community college student preferred. Related Fields of Study include social services, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service or equivalent work experience. Well developed interpersonal and communications skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Basic understanding of screen-readers and assistive software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional attitude, self-starter and flexible. Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset. Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment. Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
