ACTG 2P40 - Commercial Law

Basic legal considerations for the business organization.

The Department of Accounting within the Goodman School of Business at Brock University is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Instructor to teach Commercial Law.

The course encompasses the legal environment of business in Canada and basic legal considerations for business organizations including, forms of organization, business contracts, liability of owners, shareholders, directors and managers.

Compensation

Instructors have a nominal workload of hours per half credit course.

Effective September 1, - $7,.48 per half course ( hours nominally)
Effective September 1, - $14,.95 per full course ( hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

1. Possess an LL.B degree.

2. Several years of practitioner experience.

3. Prior experience teaching business law at the college or university level.
